2 Berlian _Story

One morning, Mrs Kim was having her breakfast. While drinking her coffee, she noticed  that she had circled a date on the calendar. On closer inspection, she realized that the date was her mother's seventieth birthday which would be in two days' time. So, she decided to drive to town later to buy her a present.

In town, Mrs Kim walked along the streets looking at the window displays outside the shops. After a while, she came by a pet shop and decided to go in to have a look. While looking around at the animals in the shop, she heard a voice singing a sweet melody. She turned around and saw a beautiful bird perched on a steel stand singing away. She was impressed with the bird's sweet voice and enquired about its price. The sales assistant told her that the bird was an imported species and could sing and speak five languages. It also cost RM1200. Mrs Kim wanted to buy the bird as her mother's birthday present. She was very certain that her mother would be pleased to receive the bird. After much bargaining, Mrs Kim paid RM1000 and the owner of the shop put the bird into the small cage.Mrs Kim then happily left the shop and took the bird to a courier service shop. She wanted the bird sent to her mother's address so that her mother would receive the present on the morning of her birthday.

The next day at around 5p.m., Mrs Kim called her mother to convey her birthday greetings. She also asked, 'Mum, do you liked the bird I sent you?'

Her mother was having dinner at that time and replied, 'Oh, that was very sweet of you! I'm eating it right now and it's delicious.'

Mrs Kim was horrified on hearing her mother's reply. Apparently, the lod woman did not know that the bird was very expensive and meant to be kept as a pet. Instead, she had cooked it for dinner!
